HMDTMPA is a white crystal powder at room temperature, slightly soluble in water (solubility less than 5%).

HexaMethyleneDiamineTetra (methylene phosphonic Acid) is featured by its high inhibition degree and sustaining effect. HMDTMPA is a multifunctional antiscalant with excellent effect to CaCO3, CaSO4, BaSO4, and FeO. Especially in inhibiting CaSO4scale.

It has a high scale inhibition rate and can last for a long effective time. HMDTMPA can be used for crush treatment in the oilfield and for water treatment in a boiler. However, its chelating ability is comparatively weak. HexaMethyleneDiamineTetra (methylene phosphonic Acid) is particularly suitable for the conditions with desirable free metal ions.
