Recently, China’s State Administration for Market Supervision and Administration and China’s National Standardization Administration released the national standard for carbon emission accounting for phosphoric acid and phosphate enterprises, “Greenhouse Gas Emission Accounting and Reporting Requirements Part 45: Phosphoric Acid and Phosphate Enterprises”.

National Standard on Carbon Emission Accounting for China's Phosphate Enterprises Released

It is reported that the standard is led by Guangdong Bangpu Cycle Technology Co., Ltd. and drafted by Yichang Bangpu Cycle Technology Co., Ltd. and other enterprises, which is China’s first national standard for carbon emission accounting of phosphoric acid and phosphate enterprises, especially applicable to the iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate industry, which provides a strong support for the green and low-carbon development of the industry chain related enterprises.

Phosphoric acid and phosphate is one of the main chemical raw materials for new energy storage and power battery. In recent years, the rapid development of the new energy industry, especially the high-volume installation of lithium iron phosphate batteries, led to a significant rise in the demand for phosphate chemical products. However, the relevant industry has been the lack of organization-level greenhouse gas emissions accounting standards, the lack of basis for enterprises to carry out accounting work, restricting the industry from the crude to green low-carbon transformation and upgrading.

“The standard proposes and quantifies the greenhouse gas accounting method for phosphoric acid and phosphate enterprises, which is equivalent to giving the industry a standard formula for calculation, or a ruler.” The relevant person in charge of Bump Circulation said.

Yichang has rich phosphate resources, and the phosphoric acid and phosphate industry is developing strongly. At present, Yichang Bangpu full chain integrated industrial park has put into production iron phosphate, lithium iron phosphate anode materials and other new energy battery material products.
